About Me

Welcome to the world of Things Helen Loves, where I write about walking, wellness & travel adventures.

I love to explore and seek out new experiences to share, along with interesting places to stay.

I'm endlessly inspired by the countryside, woodlands and nature. I'm happiest outdoors with my Belgian Shepherd at my heels.

I've gone forest bathing in Wiltshire, slept in medieval churches, drunk coffee in a Dutch windmill and explored an abandoned hospital in Germany. I don't know where I'm going next, but I'd love you to come along.

Delivery from Germany 😍 Mr THL knows what to do 😊
‘ The Hauntings’ a 6m high scrap metal soldier currently on display in Amesbury, Wiltshire. The location of this sculpture is very fitting, it’s located outside Antrobus House which was built by Lady Florence Antrobus in memory of her son.
Happy Spring Equinox. This is where it all really begins- longer days, lighter nights, warmer weather and all the lovely Spring things.
A lovely lych gate in the Wiltshire countryside. I think these church gates are very charming, although historically their use centred around funerals and death ⚰️ Even the word ‘lych’ comes from the Old English word for corpse.
Found the pretty town of Highworth last Summer and discovered the story of Mabel Stranks. Women’s History Month is the perfect time to share.
Snow day in Wiltshire, the countryside has had a Narnia style makeover 😍 ❄️
Memories from Welsh adventures as a nod to St Davids day. Did feel slightly guilty dragging the squaddie husband to Brecon on his down time but 🤷‍♀️ happy wife-happy life, right?
What I’d like to be doing this afternoon: canal side walking with the wolf, possibly with a stop at @honeystreetmillcafe for a little something. The hot chocolates are a work of art, swipe to see ☕️
A late Flower Friday…actually almost Saturday 😆 Never a bad time for tulips though, right?
Snowdrops in the woodlands and the sound of a babbling stream. Lovely sights and sounds telling us Spring is on its way 😊
