About Me

Welcome to the world of Things Helen Loves, where I write about walking, wellness & travel adventures.

I love to explore and seek out new experiences to share, along with interesting places to stay.

I'm endlessly inspired by the countryside, woodlands and nature. I'm happiest outdoors with my Belgian Shepherd at my heels.

I've gone forest bathing in Wiltshire, slept in medieval churches, drunk coffee in a Dutch windmill and explored an abandoned hospital in Germany. I don't know where I'm going next, but I'd love you to come along.

Helen x

Dreaming of moving into a little old cottage in the countryside. Preferably one that sits in a pretty little lane leading up to the village church 😊 Lovely if slightly chilly afternoon wandering round Marlborough yesterday. It really is a fabulous little place 😊 🎶 Raindrops on roses… 🎶 This is the cemetery of the Somerset & Bath Lunatic Asylum, that went on to be known as The Mendip Hospital. One name, one life, one story. This is the cemetery of the Somerset & Bath Lunatic Asylum, that went on to be known as The Mendip Hospital. My final post from the beautiful little city of Wells. If you’re looking for a UK city break that feels like a fairy tale, this is the one for you. I’m not famous or successful 😆 but if like me you have a place in your heart for a bit of history, abandoned places, life outdoors and big wolfy dogs then I’d love to connect. A chapel with a secret in the edge of a garrison town in Wiltshire.
