So, about this hotel…

Apartment Central opened in Spring 2016 and offers 115 rooms for 2-6 guests, over five floors. The Hotel is entirely non smoking and does not accept pets.

First impressions…

Warm and welcoming. Fast and friendly check in. The nicest reception/ communal area I have seen in a long time. The rustic/ mountain cabin inspired décor is right up my street.

Official Rating ?

Two and a half stars. Don’t be put off, this place deserves more.

Location, Location, Location.

Apartment Central is superbly located an easy ten-fifteen minute stroll from the main train station and the city centre. Less than that to the ultra modern Hofe am Bruhl shopping centre. The hotel is on the same street as the fabulous Leipzig Zoo– less than ten minutes stroll away. There are several supermarkets and convenience stores within easy walking distance.

Best thing about this hotel ?

It’s the perfect blend of hotel style lodgings and finish and the freedom of self catering. Reception is manned 24 hours so you always have a source of help and information on hand, but the rooms are self-contained and superbly equipped. Comfy beds, rain showers, coffee machine,  kettle, large fridge, dishwasher, ample storage. All the extras you need to make a bit of self catering work are also provided, including rubbish bags, dishwasher tablets & cleaning cloths.

And how about the rooms?

Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, free wi-fi and in room climate control make for a very comfortable stay. A hair dryer is provided as are basic toiletries. Enough sockets for charging all of our devices. Large flat screen TV with a few English language channels available. The well finished and thoughtfully designed rooms provided everything needed for a happy stay. Our room also featured a selection box of teas and coffee so we could make a hot drink on arrival. A lovely touch.

Anything else of note?

Yes, the wellness lifts! Very unique elevators inspired by nature, complete with sound effects. You might only be in them for a moment, but Apartment Central want even that moment to be lovely. And it is.

Any negatives?

Nope, not one. I could not fault our stay here or have asked for anything more.

But Maybe not for you if…

You like the hands on, full service approach . Reception staff are helpful and available, but will leave you to it once checked in. There is no daily housekeeping here and guests are expected to leave the room clean and tidy and ensure dishes are washed and rubbish removed on check out. There is also no breakfast on offer, although reception has information on breakfast options nearby and offers complimentary hot drinks and croissants in reception.

Value for Money

Superb. We paid under €300 for a two bed apartment that slept six for two nights.

My stay in three words?

Comfortable, stylish and convenient.

Until Next Time,

Updated May 2022: Apartment Central is still going strong in Leipzig and now offers city centre lodgings across three locations. Apartment Central also now offers three accessible apartments. Having looked at the owners home page, social media and various independent review sites I’d say it looks like this place is as lovely now as it was when I stayed. Apartment Central now offers a ‘Best Rates’ policy if you book direct.
